Mystery Monday HOW # 15

I'm glad I didn't get my drawings this morning scanned because I think I came up with some better ideas at lunch, but I needed a little time to clean them up.  So this week's HOW's are all of us at this time of year running here running there........

HOW #15 Christmas Chicks

 I did get things drawn for this week but have not had anytime to stitch for a long time, so no samples to look at, sorry!!!!  Well I have to go back to un-sewing........no time to blog tonight, got all the blocks done for quilt but had to un-sew 11....................just could not let some intersections go out like that, and one block had two parts (not one, nooooo...2!!) sewn in that were turned 45 degrees, stuck out like a sore thumb in the quilt too!!.  so back to re-sewing, then sewing the blocks all together, and finish up Paulette's ornaments........I put them aside and have not gotten back to them. They and AnnaLisse's gifts need to be mailed..............I am terrible at getting things in the mail.  .   Hopefully I will get back to normal blogging and emailing by the end of this week, I'm sure I've missed out on some great blogs.  Will try to go back to read old emails and other's posts to catch up on most everything!!

Need to blog on things I've received.  I got a bunch of goodies from my Ohio Twin, Cyndi from bluebirdswing, and a really cute tote bag made by Betty of luv2sew filled with more goodies as a thank you from my quilting chicks bunch.

Did some more stitching tonight.  Look what I did!!

I took the Mystery Monday HOW(hexagon ornament og the week) from earlier this week and re-worked it.

Sorry, I haven't even rinsed out the blue water-soluble marker or assembled it as an ornament, need to fix a couple of little things.  I should have used a slightly darker gray but had to use what I had, would have been dark enough on white fabric but is on swirly cream.

Dawn Hay Frosty Flake #3

..............is done!! She was naughty and posted it late last night her time,  moring here I had to think about it all day t work, knowing I wouldn't be able to do it till late this evening.  Got home and still had to pick roma tomatoes, about 3/4 bushel.  I slipped the skins and froze them tonight in 8 cup batches.  I had excellent help... 3 yr old GD#2 peeled the cooled tomatoes.  She did a gallon all by herself.  So, about 8:00 I finally sat down, grabbed my file folder templates and fussy cut the red fabric I had pulled out of a red pile............check out the fabric.  I fussy cut the first too but wasn't as precise as I was tonight  The pattern on the fabric was more intricate tonight ..........can't wait to do another set out of this fabric becaise there's about 2 different elements to fussy cut around and by tuning could produce many different patterns.

Frosty Flake #2

got it done, it's sooooo cute!!  If you haven't joined in yet, you need hop over to dawn hay's blog(see the frosty flake button on my side bar) and download these fun patterns. 

Here's my version of her frosty flakes block 2.

I even found some beads this week .  Last week I used small buttons and french knots.  I think it's a little "overflashed" the color appears to be kind of orangey but I assure it's red.  If you missed last week here are both of them.

She does such cute stuff I can't wait for the rest!!!!

And for those who've been here before, if you're wondering why I changed my header.  It's because I was told by someone that people want to know who they are blogging with.  I hate having my picture taken and do my best to avoid it.  But my quiltin' chick buddy, Anna Marie, will not let us hide behind our show and tell projects at our chicks meetings.  I really try to do that, but she'll wait forever until you come out.  So, there I am with my 2nd kaleidescope quilt called "I had a wild hair".  My kids were horrified that I would put those colors together, but as a half-baked artist, I thought,why not ?

Talk to you later, I am going to be stitching some more Dawn Hay things and some of my things and maybe some of Vikki's things if she has them ready for me to try.

Jenny has a new BOM stitch project

Have you seen this sneak peek????

Jenny of elefantz.blogspot.com/ has posted a sneak peek at her free BOM for July to October.  A project that she is sharing with blogland.  It is Soooo cute and considering all her other work promises to be a fun project, and I can't wait.  After you get done looking around here, hop over there for more sneak pics and  a supply list.  I believe I will do mine in red, because I love redwork and don't have to buy anything!!!  However,  I could do two versions, some of these new fabrics are calling my name.......................what can I say?? I am still a fabricholic.
