I won AccuQuilt's Facebook Friday Fun this week and didn't even know until Sunday, What a GO!reat Halloween treat, GO!shts and GO!blins Go!ing will be out tonight, and I will be thinking to myself as I pass out treats, my message about the GO! was not a trick, bt rather a treat! Monday Mystery HOW #12

I'm changing it up just a bit this week, I took 3 hexagons embroidered snowflakes on them, added beads and made a 3-D ornament.  Also used pale blue taffeta instead of cotton but is still assembled like before with the stiff interfacing inside.  Take two, sew three together back to back, sewing three sides before joining next one and three sides, finishing joining the newest addition with the first on the remaining last three sides.  I also added beads down the edges, and a bead tassel to the bottom.

An end view of the 3-D of the ornament.  It is 3 sided.  The beads make it appear it is 4 sided, but is only 3.

HEXOWEENIES

I AM OLD SCHOOL AND I LIKE OLD SCHOOL CANDY, MY KIDS ARE THE SKITTLES, STARBURSTS AND ATOMIC WARHEADS GENERATION AND CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY I LIKE THE CANDY I LIKE...........BUT THIS TIME OF YEAR IT'S THIS.........

SO IT'S HEALTHY RIGHT????  DID YOU SAY SUGAR?? NO....NOT MUCH, LOL!!!

ANYWAY I INVITED MY CANDY FRIENDS OVER TO A HALLOWEEN PARTY..................

 SEE HOW THEY CAME.................

NOW, if you will look closely they are not done.  They are only sitting on top of the felt.  So I still have to attach to felt and add twisted cord hangers.  I also have quite a few more to stitch.  I am also going to turn these into 3D type ornaments for a Halloween tree!   SO for now now I am going to give you all of  the stitch patterns.  Let's see what you guys do with them.  email me pics or blog links so I can see what you're doing with them.  These are on the palest blue fabric, so you could see the white better, They have been lightly crayoned with orange, yellow, purple, black and green then stitched.

 the felt patterns will be later. They (the 3-d felt) may not be ready until after halloween

above patterns will print out actual size from google docs, cut them apart and and allow 1/2' all the way around each ornament.  Transfer patterns, color and stitch, make them like the HOW ornaments only wit felt on the back.  Cyndi

Mystery Monday HOW # 11

Wow was that an exciting week last week.  Fall in to Fall came to an end and the package of goodies will be flying over to NORWAY, to Anne-Lise from Rag, Tag, & Bobtail. Congratulations to you, Anne-Lise.  And Thank you to everyone who entered the giveaway and left, jokes, stories, and compliments.  Those of you I sent emails about the other gifts, not all of you have gotten back to me.  Take your time to decide and let me know.

okay, that's all for today...............but you that are crazy for quick and easy stitchies are going to love what I post next next time.  We went to the pumpkin patch and after we got home I was doodling these ornaments and halloween just kept lurking in the back if my mind. Next thing I knew I had a page full of halloweenie quickies. Cute as they are, they may change and evolve into something even bigger before I'm done  Then after I scribbled those down, even more ideas kept popping into my head about 3-D ornaments etc etc.......it was one of "those" nights, kept paper, pencils and markers REAL handy!!  Now I need stitching time. But am finishing up some other things first.  Maybe I'll just post the pattern and see what you guys do with it????  We'll see, either way I think you'll like it.  Hope you like the ones for this week, keep stitching happy till next time!!!  Cyndi

chicken challenge

Quiltin'Chicks group meeting list says for Thursday, October 7 2010 that there is a "Chicken Challenge". 

Now Mother Hen has flown the coop and chased after one her babies leaving the rest of us cackling hens to get up to something and this is the something that we got into ...............

a Chicken Challenge Show and Tell.........they were to bring anything chickeny( ideally, it was something they made with a chicken theme! ) One lady said she didn't know what to do, I said, "bring a box of Chicken in a Biscuit crackers, we all like to peck around on things!!!!" hahahaha!
